Oritsejafor’s Call For Buhari’s Arrest, Distortion Of Facts – CPC

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) yesterday described the call by President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN ), Pastor Ayodele Oritsejafor for the arrest of national leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) as unsupportable by incontrovertible facts and orchestrated distortion of commentaries made by the former head of state on national issues.

The party dismissed Oritsejafor’s position on Buhari as outcome of a paid job of President Goodluck Jonathan’s close ally, saying “We have also noted the physical presence of President Good-luck Jonathan at the ceremony where Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor was presented a gift of Bombardier Jet on 10th November, 2012”.

In a statement by its national publicity secretary of the, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, CPC berated Oritsejafor for using the platform of CAN “to impetuously seek the arrest of GMB (Buhari) based on fiction and orchestrated literary violence by the PDP-led Federal Government”.

The CAN president had last week sought the arrest of Buhari who he said was “the prime leader of this religious and blood thirsty sect called Boko Haram, a movement that is based on a warped interpretation of a strict adherence to force people of other religions into Islam”, adding that “this kind of fundamentalism is the driving force behind his failure of each election in the country”.

But the statement by the CPC faulting Oritsejafor’s attack on Buhari also noted that “the moral rectitude, personal discipline and patriotic love for Nigeria by GMB is head and shoulder above what the current leaders of the Nation possess”, even as it argued that Buhari “is not in the mould of leaders that do not match their words with deeds.”
