Kabwe Pastor's Prophecy Divides Family

A NAMED Kabwe Pentecostal church pastor's prophesy has caused confusion in a family after he allegedly singled out two members for practicing satanism.

The pastor is alleged to have prophesised that the two women of the same family had also sacrificed one of the family members who died in a recent bus accident.

Speaking in an interview last week, one of the women, aged 46, said she together with her immediate sister whom some family members think had been initiated into satanism were now living in fear.

She claimed that although the pastor who has brought about confusion and division in the family was now in police custody, she wanted him to prove the allegation in the courts of law.

She said she had suffered humiliation at the hands of her younger sisters, who believed that she was responsible for difficulties encountered during her pregnancy which led to her being operated on.

She said it was unfair for a person of his calibre to preach hatred and divide a family, which had completely fallen apart and that the prophesy had brought disharmony.

"My heart is heavy because of the prophesy given to our family and we cannot sit and discuss like we did before. My family has completely fallen apart," she said.

And police sources said following the apprehension of the pastor, he had asked them if he could meet the complainant for him to apologise to the family as a whole.

Central Province Commissioner of Police Standwell Lungu said police were investigating the matter and were committed to ensuring the truth was established.

He said preliminary investigations indicated that the complainant was referred to as a satanist after family members pretended to have taken a child to the pastor for prayers.

Mr Lungu said the accused person had been remanded in custody for his own safety as well as to assist with investigations.
